What can I do with this pork roast?!
What can I do with this? I have some marinade and also a bottle of BBQ sauce. So I am not opposed to making pork sandwiches. I have just never cooked it in the crock pot this way and could use some advice.
Thanks!
Answers: I usually make pot roast in the crock pot when I purchase these. I thawed one out overnight and realized that I don't have any potatoes and carrots and have no way of going to the store.

I make a BBQ pulled pork sandwiches all the time in the crock pot (that is about all I do with a pot roast haha)
Put the pork in the crock pot and top with bbq sauce (For every 1lb of pork use 1 cup of bbq sauce, more or less) and cook for 8 hrs on slow or 4 hrs on high until you can shred the pork with 2 forks.
If I have cheese in the house, I will add that to my sandwich.
If you have a pork lion, don't make bbq sandwiches from it, it doesn't taste as good.
Enjoy!
Pulled pork sounds good I also put a roast in the crockpot with a jar of pickle juice and large dill pickles and cook it just like a roast and when it is done pull it apart and eat it like pulled pork sandwiches and it has a nice dill flavor if you like that, everyone at my house does. You throw away the pickles after you cook them though because the juice has all cooked out of them..
What kind of pork roast is it?? Pork Shoulder/Butt?? Or a pork loin?? If you could answer this one question, we could be more help.....I don't recommend a loin in a crock, it gets way too dry......I'll check back......

Pork Tenderloin with Dijon Cream
Serves: 2
Prep time: 15 min Cook time: 15 min
1# pork tenderloin, cut into 2" slices
Seasoned flour
2 Tbsp. butter, divided
2 tsp. canola or olive oil
Sauce:
2 green onions, sliced (coin shape), white and green parts separated
1/3 cup white wine or dry vermouth
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tsp. Dijon mustard (or more to taste)
salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to low, about 170 degrees.
Lightly pound pork medallions to 1" thick.
Melt 1 tablespoon of butter and 2 tsp. oil over medium high heat.
Dredge pork in seasoned flour. Add all at once to pan and saute 2 minutes per side.
Remove to a plate and hold in the oven while finishing the sauce. (pork will be a bit underdone but will finish in the oven.)
Add the remaining 1 tablespoon butter to pan. Add white part of onion, saute for 1 minute. Add wine or vermouth, simmer until syrupy and reduced to about 3 tablespoons. Add cream, simmer 2 - 3 minutes until thickened.*
Stir in Dijon, add salt and pepper to taste.
Return pork to pan to coat with sauce. Serve over rice or pasta, garnishing with the green part of the onion.
*If sauce ends up too thick, add ? cup or less of water or milk.
** you can double the sauce ingredients so there is enough to pour over white or brown rice – yum!
Try cutting up onion and garlic over it. Season it with salt and pepper. Put water in it to slow cook it good, and put on high for 30 minutes to get it started good. Then on low for 8 hours. And, yes, the barbecue sauce would be yummy on it before or afterwards. Get some good buns and make a good pork sandwich!
