Anyone have a recipe for sweet and sour sauce without pineapple ?!
SWEET-AND-SOUR SAUCE III (China)
4 T catsup
1/4 c brown sugar
2 T soy sauce
3 T wine vinegar
2 T dry white wine
2 T cornstarch, dissolved in 1/2 c cold water
Combine catsup, sugar, soy sauce, vinegar and wine in saucepan. Bring to a boil. Add the cornstarch dissolved in water to the sauce. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until sauce has thickened. Serve this with chicken, beef, pork or seafood.

1 T cornstarch
3 T water
2 T soy sauce
3 T sugar
2 T vinegar
1 T catsup
Mix cornstarch and water in a custard cup. Mix soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, and catsup in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer. Add cornstarch mixture and ximmer until it thickens and clears, stirring constantly. If too thick, thin with water.

Sweet and Sour Sauce
Ingredients:

1/4 c Sugar
1 c Water
1/4 c Vinegar (cider or white)
2 tb (heaping) cornstarch
-dissolved in:
2 tb Water
Combine ketchup, sugar, water, and vinegar in a saucepan and bring it to a
boil. Add dissolved cornstarch and stir constantly (use a whisk to break up
the clumps) until thickened.
