When making pancakes?!
Answers: do i use butter/margarine to "season" my iron skillet or cooking spray on a non-stick skillet??
I use both cooking spray and butter to season my cast iron griddle when I am making pancakes. The spray keeps them from sticking and I like the taste that a little bit of butter adds to them.
You can use either. I prefer cooking spray, though.
I like using butter then I don't spread it on the pancakes.
Now while I prefer waffles over pancakes. I recomend cooking spray.
I always use extra virgin olive oil.
Butter is to fattening.
I use oil or will use margarine if I'm out of oil.
I think cooking spray gives off a weird taste.
I personally use margarine. (Or butter.)
Butter flavored cooking spray is the best, I think. Sometimes butter or margarine can " kinda burn" and give the pancakes an off taste.
i dont use butter on these at all
u dont have to put butter
Lord love a duck. Season iron skillet with vegetable oil not butter or margarine. you really need a griddle to make pancakes, but lacking that use a no stick pan with a light coating of oil. Use a paper towel to do this. If you want buttery flavor and are determined to add calories and fat add two tablespoons of melted butter to the pancake batter.
Using cooking spray on a no stick skillet will eventually ruin it.
As you can see, the opinion varies, but I think if you don't care about fat or calories, butter makes them taste a whole lot better.
