Cake placement?!
Answers: After a cake is baked what do i put it on to present the cake? Like you know a platform?
If you are already baking it....Yes turn it out on a large dinner plate...just be sure the plate is large enough for the cake and you have about 3/4" to the edge of the plate...for ease in frosting it, and presentation, and to help carry it.. You can also use a piece of clean wood wrapped in heavy duty foil as a cake "plate"....or 2 pieces of cardboard (box kind) wrapped in foil. I have done all of those....and prefer the piece of wood for all the reasons you can think of but mostly because it doesn't bend or break. ALSO, a Cake Decorators TIP....place a bit of frosting in the center of the cake plate...which ever you choose...then place the cake on the center of the desired "plate". This holds the cake to the "plate" and keeps it from sliding......and that happens too.
you can use a fancy footed cake plate or just a regular dinner plate.
they have cake stands you can use, or if it is informal, you can find a nice plate.
I use a cakeboard, I think it looks better and is way easier to frost.
a cake platter???
You could purchase a cake platter...but, if I'm taking a cake somewhere, I usually purchase a cake box for it.
you can get lots of things to put it on! if you go to wilton.com, they have lots of baking supplies that might be able to help you. some tables are easier to use than others because you still have to frost & decorate the cake. so some people put it on a tilting tray so they can decorate easier, then set it on a regular table or tray to present it on.
Using the cake pan, and some regular cardboard. Trace the cake pan, cut out with 2 inches extra all the way around, cover with freezer paper or wax paper (tape it on the bottom of the cardboard), frost and/or decorate. Works great. You can also cover the cardboard with foil.
