Best Crock Pot recipe for "Ham & Beans"?!

Question: boil your beans for about 10 mins...remove from heat and let set for 1 hours....this eliminates the need to soak them......drain water.add fresh water then drain again.
Add beans to crock pot add enough water to cover, then add 1 sliced onion,(Optional) 1 bay leaf.and a ham hock.or what ever ham you have a available.

normally when I make beans I make a stock useing a ham hock, onion and bay leaf.then cook the bean in the stock....but either way will work

Do not add salt to your beans until you are ready to serve....salt tends to make the skins tough...also the pork normally has some salt in it...and you run the risk of over seasoning once they have cooked down.
