Answers: surely when you have cauliflower cheese/lasagne etc it is nice to make your own cheese sauce!!

I hate cauliflower with a passion but when using a cheese sauce for anything else I always make my own. Commercial stuff from a packet has a strange, floury taste. Yuk!
i use both, depends how much time i have on my hands to be honest
Make it!
i make it or just use a jar of cheeze wiz !!lol
always make it - then you can flavour it with the type of cheese you prefer.
Make it - it's so easy.
The stuff from packets tastes horrible and must take as long to make anyway.
Totally make it, the bought stuff is rubbish.
When I'm boating, camping, self-catering on holiday, I always take along a selection of packets of sauce mixes.
At home, I prefer to make my own. Home-made sauces used to be even better before we all became "health conscious" and husband decided he wanted us to use semi-skimmed milk instead of Channel Island (yummy - and you could make your own clotted cream and cottage cheese from it!)
make it ...lovely
I am allergic to cooked cheese, so I cheat!
I use a couple of sachets of cream of asparagus soup powder; mixed as per one sachet!
The resultant creamy sauce tastes almost the same as a fine cheese sauce............ or so I've been told!
make it even use danish blue
Make your own...if you have the time. If not buy a sauce which you think tastes the best!
buy it. but not in the packets.i get it in a tub. you just heat it up put it in with your cauliflower in a bowl then grate some chese over it and put in the oven. yum yum.
It is nicer to make it, but with a little one, I really can't be bothered sometimes so I do have some packets stashed in the cupboard for those times!!
cheddar cheese sauce
Use this cheese sauce on vegetables, pasta, or use in other dishes.
INGREDIENTS:
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black or white pepper
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup grated sharp Cheddar or smoky flavor Cheddar cheese
PREPARATION:
Melt butter; remove from heat. Stir in flour and seasonings. Gradually add milk, stirring until well mixed. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and smooth. Cook for 5 minutes longer; add cheese.
Stir until smooth and well blended. Serve with pasta or vegetables.
Makes 2 cups
both...home made is best.
Make it every time!!
Its so quick and simple there's no need for a packet - good strong mature cheese - as much as you like means you get a better flavour too!
I make it its fresher and healthier and has more protiens and vitamins in it .
