Can i rub ribs down and still cook them in th crock pot without ruining the rub?!


Question: Well i have never cooked ribs in a crock pot but i am thinking the rub will kind of just sweat off and be in the juices at the bottom of the crock pot but then again i have never done mine in a crock pot . This is what i do i rub my slab of ribs down with brown sugar and all my spices and put them on a rack with a pan to catch the drippings in the oven to cook on a 300 degrees for 3 n 1/2 hrs i mean slow uncovered turning them at least twice you can even go 4hrs its kind of like to your likeness how falling off the bones you want them. mmmmmm mmmmm mmmmm they will love you for that thats some gooood eats

this is confusing. Please rephrase and ask again.

I don't begin to understand.
1. "Rub down" is usually done before painting something.
2. I doubt if a rib would fit in a crock pot,
3. Rub is a verb. It can't be ruined.

Can you repeat the question please.

You can, sure. But be sure to add a little liquid (stock, broth, even water) to the crock before you cook them. Otherwise, they'll dry out. No need to cover the ribs with it, just enough to cover the bottem of the slow-cooker insert ... maybe half an inch.

You can also marinate the ribs before you put them in the slow-cooker, as an alternative to a rub. Either way, they'll taste great as long as you cook them on low heat for ... hours and hours!
