Does anyone use a "garbarge bowl" like Rachal Ray?!
Answers: I don' t like her per se, but the bowl is a good idea. I tried it and liked it.
What's even easier is to just put a small plastic bag in the bowl and fold it over the sides so when you are ready to dump the garbage bowl, you just have to pull the plastic bag out.
What a great idea that was! I cna't stand her, but the garbage boel makes things in the kitchen quicker!
It's a good idea.
NO,I don't.I prefer to recycle my empty cans, bottles etc,So wasteful!!
I've always used a variation of the garbage bowl -- usually just one of the bags that I brought produce home in since I don't want to have to wash an extra bowl...
I don't have a garbage bowl, but I did take a gallon water jug and cut an opening in it, leaving the handle in tact and use that for my garbage. Makes it easy to dump the garbage out of the jug and when it gets too grimy, I just make a new one. If I have meat scraps in it, I just throw the whole thing out. Makes far fewer trips to the garbage can.
I made grillades last night which involves chopping a number of veggies. I had the garbage bowl sitting beside me. Saved a bunch of walking to the trash can.
No, I drag the kitchen trash bin close to the counter where I am prepping my veggies and meats. The only exception to the rule is when I'm working with seafood. In that case, I use a plastic grocery bag and discard shells, scales, bones, etc. into it rather than smelling up the whole kitchen. I keep the bag in the freezer until trash day. And anyone who tips 15% to the penny and says, ' Yumm-o for EVOO,' oughta be smacked in the forehead.
I use a garbage bowl when preparing vegges. It makes it so much easier to put the scraps in a bowl right next to you versus leaving it on the cutting board or bringing it to the garbage.
Why not just use the trash can?!?
