Choosing a dutch oven?!

Question: I'm trying to decide between the Le Creuset 6.4L oval dutch oven or the 6.9 L round dutch oven. Which one will be best suited to making braised lamb shanks?

Either would do for the shanks, but I would take the oval so if I was to do a leg of pork, ham or lamb, they would fit.

I don't know that it will make any difference as long as all the shanks fit. I suppose you have to brown the shanks first, but they can be done in batches.
I don't know how many shanks you are doing, but I have to assume that they will fit into both pans.

I don't think it wil make a difference.

I don't suppose you are only going to cook Lamb Shanks. You will probably find the oval one of more use. But you also need to take into account your stove size.

Supposedly, oval dutch ovens cook less evenly than round ones, but especially if you're putting them in the oven after browning or sauteing, I'm not sure it would make that much difference.
