I want to make tuna casserole for dinner tonight?!

Question: I have two cans of tuna, milk, flour, cornstarch, peas, and bowtie pasta. And I have a ton of seasonings..whats a good recipe?
The reason I ask is because I dont really know how to make the white sauce that goes in the casserole...do I have the right things to make the sauce and do I need the cornstarch?

Roux or white sauce base:

1 cup flour
1 cup butter

rub these together until well blended. Keep in jar in fridge and use as needed

Using 1/4 cup of the roux, put it in sauce pan over medium heat. Stir in 1 cup milk or water using whisk. Stir briskly adding the liquid in little bits until all taken in.

Now to make the Tuna casserole, I like Celery salt, sage, a bit of tarragon, and cilantro stirred into the white sauce.

I make tuna casserole using 2 medium potatoes, 4 ribs celery, and 2 carrots, cut to 1/2 inch pieces, stewed til nearly done in just enough water to cook them.

Put in foil lined casserole dish sprayed with pam and stir in the 2 cans drained tuna. Pour the white sauce over it and stir just a bit.

Top this with a can of biscuits. Bake until bubbly and biscuits are browned at 350. Takes about 20 minutes.

dice some onion and brown in butter, drain the peas if they are canned and stir them into the onion butter. heat just til hot.

Have a lovely mixed colorful salad with this too.

no you dont need cornstarch.
flake the tuna.
cook pasta just to al dente (very firm bite almost crunch)
chopped onions
italian seasoning
salt & pepper
cream of , pretty much anything, soup
1/2 can milk

mix all ingrediants well, put in baking dish
top with grated cheese.
cook at about 375 until cheese is melted and it has thickened.

TUNA CASSEROLE

4 oz tri color rotini
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/3 cup milk
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 tsp dry mustard
1 cup diced string cheese
1 can tuna drained and flaked

Cook rotini according to package and drain.

Mix soup, milk, mayonnaise and mustard. Stir in rotini and cheese and gently fold in tuna. Turn into a 1 1/2 qt casserole that has been sprayed with cooking oil (so it doesn't stick).

Bake uncovered at 350 for 45 minutes.

Makes about 4 servings.

You can also pop it into the microwave until hot.

The easiest recipe is:
boil the pasta put it in a baking dish, add tuna and mushroom soup to the way you want it then bake it for a bit, you can add in peas too that's really good.

I notice you didn't mention that you had any creamed soups so I assume you want to use the ingredients listed. You can thicken the milk with the cornstarch by stirring a couple spoonfuls of the cornstarch in water and then pour that mixture into the heated almost boiling milk. Add some salt and pepper. If you have butter or margarine add a couple of pats of that to the steaming sauce.

Now, add drained tuna & sauce to the pasta that has been cooked al dente. I don't care for peas in my casserole, but you could drain and add the peas. I add chopped jalepeno pepper, salt, pepper, and grated cheese. Then I bake until cheese is melted and bubbly.
