Mickey Mouse Sugar Cookies (no extracts here)

1 egg
1/2 cup butter melted
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking powder

Preheat oven to 400. Break the egg into a large bowl. Add butter, sugar, cinnamon, milk and lemon juice. Beat until creamy. Sift the dry ingredients into another bowl and add to the wet mixture mixing well. Drop by teaspoonful onto 2 cookie sheets (ungreased). Leave at least 1 inch between cookies. Bake 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately remove from the Cookie sheets and place on a rack to cool.

just leave out the extract

Use cognac or rum.

Cinnamon would give them a nice flavor.

If you have vanilla sugar you can substitute some of the sugar for that other than that you can put cinnamon in or even grate lemon or orange peel into the dough for a different flavor. I have made them without vanilla before and you really don't notice especially if you sprinlke them with sugar or make jammies out of them.

Maybe add a little lemon or orange zest to the mix instead of extracts.

pancake syrup sounds good to me. cinnamon is a solid though and if you take out a liquid you need to add a liquid to keep the recipe balanced.

Almond is a nice substitute , and yes you can use honey or Cinnamon , I don't think the pancake syrup would give much flavor , its mainly sugar , but pure maple syrup would be nice , just reduce the amount of sugar

u can add cinnamon or nutmeg or just leave the vanilla out.
