Bake Sale Brownies?!

Question: I'm in 7th grade and I love to cook and bake cookies and stuff like that every since my mom taught me how. I'm on the volleyball team and we're having a bake sale to raise money so we can get new nets and balls. Me and my one friend on the volleyball team were talking about what we were going to make and her older brother Tom offered to make us Magic Brownies. I'm not sure though because I always thought that Betty Crocker brownie mix was the best. What brand should I use?

Betty Crocker is the best just had some brownies Yummy!

Umm the term magic brownies usually means brownies that have weed cooked into them so I don't think you'd want those for a bake sale :) Betty Crocker is great!

Uhm, I hope you're not serious, but I would stick with the Betty Crocker. If this is a bake sale, you will likely get arrested for "Magic Brownies." They contain drugs.

Use Betty Crocker or Ghiradelli. Stick to brownie stuff you personally buy in a store.

My grandchildren like this one....

INGREDIENTS
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 pinch salt
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x11 inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, mix the butter and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract. Mix in the flour, salt and cocoa powder just until moistened. Stir in the walnuts, if using. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.

BETTY CROCER IS THE BEST!!!!!!! DELICIOUS BROWNIES!!!!!!!

My daughter made always the highest sales at her school events with these brownies:

First make the cookie layer:
12 tablespoons (1-1/2 sticks) butter, cut into tablespoon slices
1 cup firmly-packed light brown sugar
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 large egg, at room temperature
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Brownie Layer:
12 tablespoons (1-1/2 sticks) butter, cut into tablespoon slices
3/4 cup unsweetened Dutch-process cocoa powder (Ghiradelli brand preferred)
1-1/2 cups sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs, at room temperature
1-1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
3/4 cups all-purpose flour
Chocolate Topping:
4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate bar, chopped
1 tablespoon butter

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Place rack in the middle of the oven. Line a 9-by-13-inch baking pan with non-stick foil or grease with butter or shortening.

Chocolate chip cookie layer preparation:
Melt butter over medium heat or slowly in the microwave.

Remove from heat and whisk in brown sugar until smooth. Set aside to cool to room temperature, but still liquid.

Then the Brownie layer:
Melt butter over medium heat or slowly in the microwave. Remove from heat and whisk in cocoa powder. Scrape into medium-sized bowl with a spatula. Add sugar and salt, whisking to combine until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing after each addition until blended, adding vanilla extract with the last egg. Using a large spoon or spatula, mix in flour just until blended. Pour into prepared pan, and gently spread evenly over the bottom of the pan. Set aside.

Chocolate chip cookie top layer:
Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl. Stir with a fork or dry whisk until evenly mixed. Combine flour mixture with cooled butter/brown sugar mixture until smooth. Whisk in 1 egg and vanilla extract, mixing again until smooth. Fold in chocolate chips.

Space spoonsful of cookie mixture over the Brownie layer. Gently smooth it to create an even top layer.

Bake about 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with small gooey bits. Do not overbake. Cool to room temperature.

Chocolate topping:
Melt chopped semi-sweet chocolate with butter in the top of a double-boiler or slowly in the microwave, stirring until smooth. Let cool until lukewarm but still melted. Scrape chocolate into a zip-top baggie, squeeze out all the air, and seal. Cut a tiny hole in the bottom corner of the bag and drizzle chocolate in a zig-zag manner over the top of the cooled bar cookies. Chill about 45 minutes to set.

Cut into bars to serve. Cut these cookie bars into small servings as they are very rich. Bars may be frozen up to 1 month. Double Decker Brownie Cookie Bars are good cold or at room temperature. Great for bake sales or gifts from the kitchen.

You can make about 36 to 48 cookie bars, depending on cut size
.

If I am not making them from scratch, I use a Ghirardelli mix. They use a higher grade of chocolate. The brownies turn out with a homemade taste and texture. I

Oddly enough, my son is baking a couple of batches tomorrow for a bake sale at his high school on Monday. He is using the Ghirardelli Fudge Brownie mix.

avoid the magic or special brownies, stick w/ Betty Crocker!

You don't want Magic Brownies!! Go buy some Betty Crocker mix. You can probably find them on sale right now and you can save some time on making them. While they are quick to mix up and put into the oven you can make some other goodies for the bake sale! Try making Puppy Chow and put them into individual bags to sale! Do some pretzels dipped into white almond bark or the chocolate flavored! They are quick and easy things to make and to help you make money at your sale! Good luck!

the recipe on the box of bakers simisweet chocolate squares make the best brownies. however if my memory serves me right, "magic brownies consist of putting "pot" or "weed" in them high~ ly not suitable for a school volleyball bake sale,, maybe your friend wants to have a laugh of it But I assure you ,, some may not find it too funny the older brother should be ashamed for recomending this as it "could" get you and your friend a vacation to juvenile jail..
