Can I cook Au Gratin potatoes in a dutch oven instead of a casserole dish?!

Question: And will I have to adjust the recipe at all? Help! I am trying to make a special dinner for tonight (it's 11:15 AM), only to find that I am short a casserole dish.

There is no reason you could not cook it in a dutch oven and you would not have to change the recipe either

As long as it's oven proof, you can cook it in anything. I have even made them in pyrex bowls.

Sure, just don't put the lid on or your gratin will not get the brown 'crust' it needs .No other adjustments needed.

You can cook it in the dutch oven if the handles are oven proof. Have a nice dinner!
