How do you store and cook fresh pork?!
Answers: A friend gave us some fresh pork (he killed a pig while deer hunting) and I am not sure what to do with it. How to store and cook.
Pork should be refrigerated at 40 °F if it will be used within 3 to 5 days. Otherwise, freeze at 0°F. Cook ground pork patties and ground pork mixtures to 160°F. Whole pork muscle should be cooked to 160°F (medium) or 170°F (well done).

You should put it in Ziploc Bags (the large ones) and store in the freezer until you're ready to cook it.
On the day that you want to eat it, the day before you should leave it to thaw out (from being in the freezer) and then cook it as you would normally.
Freeze it until you're ready to cook it. My favorite way to cook fresh pork is this: Any type of roast should be placed in a roasting pan, fat side up. Do not trim any of the fat!!! Sprinkle libererly with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Roast uncovered at 350 degrees farienheight for 25 min. per pound. When done, it should pull apart easily. Keep it very simple! Pork is good on its own. Good Luck!
