How do you "grease" a cake pan with no flour?!


Question: i have shortening, but no flour- dag nabbit! can i use confectionary sugar or will the grease be enough?

You don't need to use flour, the grease will be enough.

You could also use Pam, or cooking spray. Thats all I use, and it comes out fine every time.

The grease might be enough depending on what it is. The reason for the flour with the grease is to keep the item from pulling away too much while baking, which would cause it to become a little smaller and denser on the outside.


Don't use anything other than flour if you don't have it. If you do have uncooked oatmeal, then you could break that up into a floury form and use it.

"Grease" just means grease it with shortening or spray it with Pam. If it doesn't say to flour it, you don't have to.
