Can you use Vanilla soy milk for cooking in place of regular milk?!


Question: I am doing a lactose elimination for my 18 month old son and I want to make a cheese sauce but I do not want to use regular milk so can I use soy?I dont know how silly this question is!!

I've been cooking for 15 years and I've never tried that....lol The soy may not mix with the cheese because it's not milk it is soy juice. In my experience you'll most likely need a dairy to mix the cheese into to make a sauce but like I said I've never tried it

I think it would be okay, the cheese sauce will probably just be a little sweeter with the vanilla soy milk. Test it by making a small amount first!

Yes, but if you want it to taste like the cheese sauce you make with milk, you should use plain soy milk. The vanilla is sweetened.
