Frosting questions?!
Thanks in advance.
(Oh and by the frosting i mean what type like (buttercream, ganache, etc. which would work good for writing messages and would also be good on cupcake)
Answers: I'm making cupcakes for valentine's day. I want to make chocolate cupcakes, but I'm not sure what frosting to use on top. I want to write a message on the cupcakes ("Be Mine?") and I'll have a letter per cupcake. What frosting should I apply to the cupcake and what should I use to write the message on top of the frosting? Also anyone have a recipe for a moist chocolate cupcake?
Thanks in advance.

Use buttercream.. it is white and you could put food coloring in them make the frosting pink and write each letter in red.. you can buy red gel stuff that you can use to write on the cakes in the baking isle.
royal icing is best
google the recipe
Ganache would go well with Valentine's Day theme. I mean chocolate has been known as a good asphrodisiac :) It sure brings out the romantic mood. You can use butter cream to write the wordings as butter cream is easier to control to write on small cup cakes.
well i have a recipe that i came up with you make your basic frosting recipe milk, powdered suger and butter then you melt semi sweet chocolate chips in microwave when melted add to frosting mixture then decorate cake to do this you may have to warm up to spell with but this frosting is very good taste lke fudge.
You should do red velvet cupcakes with a cream cheese frosting. As far as writing something, I'm not sure what to use. I do know I've seen at the grocery store stuff in tubes to write with. If you do red velvet cupcakes I think it's Duncan Hines that makes a mix and it really good. It has the cupcake recipe on the box. I have a FANTASTIC cream cheese frosting recipe.
Try the chocolate cake recipe on the back of the Hershey's unsweetened cocoa. It's very easy and it always comes out moist and yummy.
Buttercream is best for decorating. If the cupcakes are going to be sitting in a room about 72 degrees for more than an hour you should make your buttercream with a half and half mixture of butter and vegetable shortening. The vegetable shortening will last better in warmer temperatures, but the butter gives it that wonderful flavor.
u should make the sugar icing which is consist of:
3 cups white sugar
3/f cups water
6 eggwhites
? tsp. Cream of tartar
Procedure: Boil ? cups of water and sugar then wait until slightly sticky(syrup).
Use another bowl then put the eggwhites and ? tsp, cream of tartar.Beat it fastly and arefully add the sugar. When the icing will not fall when turned upside down, it is ready for frosting process.
