How do you make Scalloped potatos?!


Question: This dish is easy to prepare and so delicious. These are very creamy and cheesy scalloped potatoes.

INGREDIENTS
5 Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
1 small onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
3/4 pound ham, diced into 1/2-inch pieces
1 quart heavy cream

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Place the potatoes, onion, garlic, Cheddar cheese, and ham in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Gently stir until well combined. Pour the cream over the potato mixture.
Bake in the preheated oven until the potatoes are tender, about 1 hour

I've tried this recipe and they turned out pretty good. You can substitute the Gruyere for Jack or cheddar (I've done both)

Check the link below, we have made these twice and they are to die for!!!! Read her cook's notes and instead of cheddar (boring), use Havarti cheese. We also grate some extra Parmesan-Reggiano on top.

P.S. I can't stand RR's recipes - yuk.

I peel my favorite potatoes slice thinly place in bowl add cream of mushroom soup and velveeta mix together now here is where you could add meat any kind you like and if you want this to kind of have unique flavor add sour cream, hard to explain the taste but is very good .
