Pregnancy and Kid friendly meals?!


Question: Hi,
Not exactly a question more of an information seeker. I am looking for some recipes/meal ideas as Im hopeless at taking vitamins and want the best for the health of my baby so want all the essentials out of my food. I also have a 2 year old daughter so they have to be kid friendly too. To start it off ill give a recipe that my family love thats healthy for everyone.

Ingredients Grilled teriyaki chicken with leek and pepper stir fry
For the chicken
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp soy sauce
100g/3?oz chicken thigh meat, scored with a sharp knife
For the stir fry
1 tbsp olive oil
1 garlic clove, finely sliced
? leek, finely sliced
? red pepper sliced

Method
1. Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas 6.
2. To make the chicken, in a large bowl mix together the sesame oil, honey and soy sauce.
3. Cover the chicken in the marinade and leave for five minutes.
4. Heat a griddle pan until smoking.
5. Char-grill the chicken for two to three minutes on each side.
6. Place in the oven and roast for five minutes.
7. To make the stir fry, heat the oil in a small frying pan. Add the garlic, leeks and pepper and cook until soft.
8. Pour in the marinade mixture and bring to a simmer. Reduce until thick.
9. To serve, spoon the stir fry into the centre of a warm plate and place the chicken on top.

Grandma Athina’s pasta with feta


Ingredients

300 gms crumbled feta
3 large cloves roughly chopped garlic (or more or less according to taste)
5 tablespoons olive oil*
500 gms Spaghetti or spaghettini

Method

Cook the pasta in plenty of boiling water with salt and olive oil until al dente. Drain.

Heat oil in the same pot and add the garlic. Cook until it is just turning colour. Add the feta and cook over a low heat, stirring all the time until it begins to melt. Add the pasta and toss thoroughly over a very low heat until completely mixed.

Serve hot, with freshly ground pepper, finely chopped spring onions and/or parsley or none of the above.

*We only use Extra virgin olive oil.

I didn't buy prepared baby good for the last 2 , big peoples apple sauce, canned or frozen veggies of fresh cooked, throw it in the blender. Our dinner stew Went into the blender. Even the baby cereals over priced and processed . you can cook it for both kids. About two they go into a growing spurt and are real picky eaters Slices of carrots , celery cheese sticks apple slices. Keep it small and attractive, they are not want to eat every thing you eat, It is not the time to start them them on liver. I finally came to my senses one day and I thought of just take one more bite wasn't worth it. I say they do not need soft drinks, cookies, and all that stuff that s what grandmas are for.
