ground beef
chopped onion
kidney, pinto, chili, or no beans
chili powder
cumin powder
garlic fresh or powdered
salt
cayenne pepper
chopped fresh parsley or cilantro
tomato sauce , water
cornstarch (predissolved and added to thicken)
a packet mix??? never had one in my kitchen!!!
1 pound ground round or sirloin
1 pound ground pork shoulder
1 medium onion, minced
2 teaspoons each sage, oregano, cilantro, garlic powders
salt to taste
1 8-ounce carton Bueno red chile puree
2 tablespoons flour
1 carton water
Brown the meats and the onion, drain off excess fat. Stir in the other ingredients, blending the flour in the water. Simmer for 2 hours.
Start with frying some onions, add some beef mince, fry until browned, you may want to drains off any fat that may have come out of the beef. Add a tablespoon of paprika and a teaspoon of chilli powder(or more if you like it hot!)
Next add some sliced peppers, then two tins of peeled plum tomatoes (that has been pureed/put in a blender)
Add four and a half teaspoons of sugar (to counteract the sharpness of the tomatoes) and two teaspoons of salt (or to your preffered taste)
Next drain a tin of kidney beans and add this, then simmer for ten minutes or so or until the kidney beans are soft, add a heaped teaspoon of cornflour that is mixed with water, stir until sauce has thickened a little, and serve with rice!
I just made this yesterday and everyone loves it. I generally use ground turkey for my brother in law but ground beef would do well.
Dice up 1 medium yellow onion, 1/2 bell pepper, 1 finely diced chili in adobo with about 1 tsp. of the sauce, and 2 cloves of garlic. Sautee them with a little salt and pepper until they are softened on a medium heat. Then add 1 lb. ground meat and this mixture: 2 tbsp. each seasoning salt, cumin, chili powder, and black powder. Let this begin to cook. Once it's cooked through add 2 large cans diced tomatoes, 1 can of beans with the liquid and 1 can without the liquid. Let this simmer for about 2 hours. Taste occasionally for seasoning. Generally I need to add a little more seasoning salt. It will taste good with a little spice as it goes down.
