How do you strain squash?!
Try this.
Cut your squash in half and remove seeds. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Turn upside down in a rimmed baking dish and add about a half inch of water.
Cover tightly with foil and bake for about an hour in a 375 degree oven or until a knife pierces the squash easily.
Remove foil and turn squash right side up.
Put a big chunk of butter (about a tablespoon) and about a teaspoon of brown sugar in the cavity of the squash and put back into the oven uncovered for about 20 minutes.
Remove squash and serve in their shells. If you are using large squash then scoop flesh from shells and mix in a little more butter and sugar to taste.....Yum!
Answers: How are you cooking your squash? If you are cutting it up and boiling it then just drain as you would any vegetables but this is really a terrible way to cook squash.
