Anyone a fan of "bone soup" ?!
My Dad, bless his soul, used to chuck a chicken or turkey carcass in a big pot after a family meal.
Added barley, lentils, peas, chunks of spud, & dear knows what to simmer away.for ages
I have replicated this to the best of my ability, and once all the remaining meat has fallen away, and all the bones hoiked out, it is fine.
Any good notions though, for enhancing "bone soup" ?

I always cook the bones I put in some onion and carrot and leave it on for ages then drain it and it sets into a great jelly I skim off all the fat and that is the bases of any soup you fancy one of my favourites is carrot soup just cut them up soften them then put in the stock you made with the bone and then put it in blender and its great .Any veg you fancy celery, potato what ever, have fun x
yummy! I cook the bones first, for a few hours, then remove them before I add the veggies, just easier to eat that way.
I like to add bacon rinds or slab bacon, if i'm adding beans or lentils.
Sorry mate, couldn't eat that.
When I used to eat crap like KFC, I couldn't eat it off the bone.
A little bit of cream, some bay leaves, paprika, celery and black pepper
Yes, my mother-in-law always asks for the turkey bones after Thanksgiving to make turkey soup. I make a wonderful bean soup with a smoked ham bone. To your soup, I would also add some sliced carrots, sliced celery, onion to enhance the flavor.
That is the exact same way i cook chicken soup or turkey soup just with a few different ingredients. the bone gives the broth such great taste
I make mine the same way, I also do the same with bacon hock.
My mother usually does that but she makes it by putting it as chick stock or whatever and then she makes allsort of soups out of it, like chicken minestrone, she buys the packets soups and then just add it in and they turn out very nice and thick.
When she does it my dad goes mad over it cos it is lovely and tastie
