Quick & Easy Chicken Parmesan?!
Answers: I would like to make chicken parmesan tomorrow. Is there anything special I need to put in the flour or bread crumbs before lightly frying?? I want it to come out perfect.
season all layers of the dish * that is my best kitchen tip ever
so in this case make sure that your flour is season with salt & pepper and then add some italian blend herbs, parmnessan cheese and garclic powder to the bread crumbs.
Garlic powder and a bit of grated parmesan cheese!
4 boneless chicken breast halves without skin
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
2 tablespoons butter
1 jar (16 ounces) spaghetti sauce, or 1 1/2 to 2 cups homemade
1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
Wash chicken and pat dry. Put chicken between pieces of wax paper, or in a food storage bag; pound gently to flatten for even cooking. Dip chicken into egg then into crumbs to coat. In skillet over medium heat, in hot butter, brown chicken on both sides.
Add sauce then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer 10 minutes. Sprinkle with Mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses and parsley. Cover and simmer 5 minutes, until cheese melts.
Serves 4.
I would definately season the bread crumbs....Oregano, a bit of basil, garlic LOTS.....Pepper, Parmesan Cheese, Onion powder, a good bit.....(Mix this up and give it a sniff...should smell of all the seasonings, and if not add a bit more until is smells fragrant) I would dip the chicken in beaten egg then into the crumb coating...then into a sprayed with Pam baking pan. I would bake at least 30 minutes...before topping with the pasta sauce....and lots of Parmesan Cheese...at least 1 tablespoon on each Chicken Breast. Let it bake another 20 minutes til the Parmesan is browned around the edges and light brown on the top.....Serve with pasta with sauce on the side....And Garlic Bread..... Yummy
make a flour mix of 1 cup flour and 1/2 cup parm 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pep.
egg mix of 1 egg and 2 tbls milk...beat well
dredge chicken in flour, then egg mix then into flour again
lay in a buttered or greased baking pan.
drizzle with butter or margarine.bake at 350....1/2 hour for white meat 1 hout dark meat.
top with spag sauce and cheese.
People can't believe it when I tell them how little time it takes to fix this delicious chicken. It's very moist inside and so pretty to serve with its lovely basil-flecked coating.

I always used Japanese breadcrumbs, shredded Parmesan, Italian seasonings. the shredded parm gives it a pretty texture.
ok for the easiest possible chicken parm:
i would just buy pre-cooked breaded chicken patties (walmart sells them, theyre for sandwiches)
sliced mozzarella cheese
spaghettie sauce-garlic flavor
itallian seasonings
parm cheese
arrange the frozen chicken patties in a cassarole like dish
put a slice of cheese on each patty, sprinle seasonings and parm cheese, then pour a jar(or home made) of spaghrtti sauce over the whole thing. bake 375Ffor 30 minutes :)
made it a million times, turns out great always :) serve with salad and noodles.
this is way healthier than frying as well!
smdiner is closest to real deal. follow those directions but tweak with following:
(1) first dip the chicken in flour (w/little salt & pepper)- the coating will better adhere), (2) then dip in beaten egg (add teaspoon of water for each egg, not milk - much lighter texture), (3) then dip in mixture of seasoned bread crumbs, tinny bit of dried basil & parmesan cheese (Progresso Italian breadcrumbs are the best & use freshly grated parmesan cheese. if you don't grate the cheese yourself (much, much better if you do), then shredded parmesan cheese is your second choice. if you plan on using "parmesan cheese" in the green can, kill yourself now, you will never be able to cook). after chicken is sauteed in olive oil (not vegetable oil, use a light hand with oil, medium-high heat & just barely cook chicken til crust is light brown- you're gonna finish cooking it in the oven ). place chicken on roasting pan (a piece of foil sprayed w/ Pam helps w/clean-up), cover w/ sliced mozzerella, little bit of marinara & place in 425 degree oven until cheese is melted (8-10 minutes tops).
Want to make your quick and easy chicken parmesan healthier? You don't need to fry!
Season and bake your chicken breasts (I also add a little beer or white wine and minced garlic - it keeps the chicken flavorful and moist) in the oven at 375 until almost done then sprinkle with a mixture of seasoned bread crumbs and parmesan cheese (can use blend with Romano and Asiago Cheeses). Then finish with another sprinkle of parmesan cheese. When the parmesan cheese melts and browns it will "crisp" slightly over the top - giving you that "fried" feeling. When chicken is done and parmesan / bread crumbs are browned top with your favorite sauce and mozzarella and VOILA! Quick, easy, and healthier Chicken Parmesan! Enjoy!
