What are you putting in your pancakes tonight? Need ideas for sweet and savoury....?!

Question: All fillings considered...thanks! x

Answers: All fillings considered...thanks! x

Just sugar and lemon juice...no point in being too fussy with pancakes!!

sweet - blueberry
savoury - bacon

were having them with syrup, sugar and lemon and strawberry sauce

My kids love it when I add sliced bananas or crushed pineapple.

I generally go for a little cheese and fold them over to melt...

But Bacon and onion or mushroom (dry fried) can be nice...

Tomato puree and cheese can be nice too....

chocolate chips butter and syrup its really good with a little bit of whip cream too you should try it!

Vegetable stir fry, or pickled walnuts.

Homemade blaccurrant jam for the sweet.

Chocolate chips are nummy in pancakes, so are diced bananas, or BOTH!

I don't make savory ones...but I do make savory crepes that I fill with chopped herbs, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, shredded cheese, diced meat, mushrooms, onions, or whatever sounds good and I have on hand. They're a great way to use leftovers.

I am having Cream Cheese Pancakes! I only make them 2 or 3 times a year, but I love them! I love canned pie filling cherries and blueberry filling warm!

CREAM CHEESE PANCAKES WITH
STRAWBERRIES AND SOUR CREAM

3 eggs, separated
3 tbsp. granulated sugar
2 oz. cream cheese (room temperature)
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 pt. strawberries (2 c.)
1/2 c. sour cream
Confectioners sugar

Beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Beat in 1 tablespoon sugar until whites are stiff and glossy.
In another bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Beat in egg yolks and vanilla. Add flour and remaining 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, and beat until well blended. Batter will be very thick. Beat in 1/4 of the egg whites and then gently fold in remainder with a rubber spatula.

Using a pastry brush or paper towel, lightly oil surface of a large griddle and heat over moderate heat until a drop of water sizzles. Drop teaspoons of batter onto griddle to make silver dollar pancakes. Cook about 30 seconds, until bubbles form on surface and the underside is browned. Turn and brown other side. Repeat. Makes 48 pancakes.

Arrange on platter. Top with sour cream, then strawberries and finally a sprinkling of confectioners sugar.sdr

stawberrys and banna topped with a dazzle of cream folded up and then cut into peaces mmmmm nice and tasty.

savoury!!!

Can't help you on savoury sorry hun

Cinnamon and honey is good...and healthy.

I love sugar and lemon juice, my kids love strawberry or chocolate sauce

I love this combo :
2 slices of smoked ham and 3 thin slices of green apple left to brown slighty in pan before pouring pancake batter on it.
And then dousing the pancake with maple syrup. The combination of sweet sour and salty is great!

Spread the pancake with chocolate spread, 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream on top and drizzle with golden syrup.
Never had a savoury pancake before, but i imagine cheese and bacon would taste good, or maybe spread with pesto and put grilled vine tomatoes on top.

I love cheese and tomato pancakes! Yum! Or garlic mushrooms.

For sweet, try toffee ice cream.

ill be having sweet ones tonight but my fave savoury idea is cheese and leeks -just sweat some leeks in butter till soft, add salt and pepper, and stir in some grated cheese of your choice and a little bit of cream. yummy.
