You are so damn funny sparky i am not laughing at ur injuries but i have to say your questions are always good for a think and a giggle. May i have a perfect pancake please opps im sorry one of your perfect pancakes.
Turn the heat down.
I did yesterday -- maybe cause the battery isn't in the smoke detector....
I can cook pancakes without setting off the smoke alarm.
Bacon though, that is another story!
TURN DOWN THE HEAT!
It is better to take longer to cook something well then to ruin it trying to do it fast...
Or say screw it and get a waffle iron!
i never manage to burn them, how do you do it, lolololol.
Yes. The reason why your smoke alarm keeps going off is because you have the fire set up too high. Put it down and let it cook slowly. Also make sure you grease the pan before pouring the batter.
yes, don't have a smoke alarm...
yes i can :) i use a griddle works perfectly. I'm sure if i left in unattended i could burn them
turn down the heat - watch 'em close - flip 'em often
yeah.. but I use a timer and the GT-101 express!
The first pancake always sucks--totally burnt. But after that the rest are fine.
You just got to watch it and check ever so often, i think you got it on too hot, maybe hold the pan and inch off the ring.
You cant just leave it make a cup of tea and come back to flip it.
No, I'm hopeless!
wow!!
sounds like you have pancake issues.
but don't worry, i do too
sure, i just made yesterday pancake
it's harder when i have to flip them or to keep the buter on middle but i am getting better
I have never set off the smoke alarm while cooking pancakes. Are you deep frying them?
Practice makes perfect. I removed the smoke alarm from my kitchen, couldn't stand the damn thing going off all the time.
Have a hippy happy, tippy tappy day (;
I can't cook toast without my alarm going off sometimes-its a stupid one and drives me crazy. I finally took the battery out! I have a sign in the kitchen that reads "Dinners ready when the smoke alarm goes off"-HA!
I'm a good cook too and love to make big spreads for guests-
As for pancakes-are you watching the bubbles come up in the batter? As soon as you see them start-flip! You just have to watch and not walk away- I cook them on medium too.
When you make pancakes the alarm shouldn't go off. You need to lower the heat and make sure the pan isn't too greasy. They do normally look different then the last time but never burnt to a crisp. Good luck and keep trying!
He!l - neither my wife nor her mother can cook ANYTHING with out the fire alarms going off..................so my father-in-law & I spend ALOT of time drinking in the taverns together.
i,ve tried to make some for my 7 year old daughter and ended up wrecking the pan, i,ll have to go and hide the evidence in the bucket before the wife comes home.
Keep the heat at 350F. Slice up a banana and after pouring the batter top it off with a few sices, throw a few blueberries on top too. Flip and the banana gets all carmelized and blueberries squish to a pretty purple. This impresses guests and is really yummy. :)
Have someone make the pancakes for you if you burn them so often!
Breakfast at my place 11am sat? You bring the oj. lol j/k
I know I can't.
um on second thought. I don't want the third or fourth pancakes. you can have them:)
You have the heat too high! Turn it down a bit and be atient...wait for the little bubbles to form, then flip and give it just a little, it won't take as long as the other side is already cooked. I really think that your temp is too high!
When you drip some drops of water on the griddle, they should dance around the surface. If they turn to steam instantly, it's too hot. If they just sit there, it's not hot enough.
Turn the heat down or do what I do and open a window. I love pancakes scrummy...
Yes I can cook pancakes without the smoke alarm.
Turn down the heat to avoid you burn your fingers !
no you have to get the butter so hot the alarms will always go off,the first one is always rubbish they just get better after that. But a more important thing what do you put on them?
The big secret to cooking pancakes is to use a very low heat and be patient!
