Help please I wish to tenderise my steak which is the best method , I have tried beating it?!

soak the meat in vinegar and them marinate for a couple of hours it will taste great

There is a special utensil you can buy in kitchenware shops that puts tiny holes in the meat.

Marinate for 10-15 minutes in lemon juice add a little garlic if you like, the lemon will tenderise and partly cook making cooking time shorter.

There's a number of things that go into a steak being tough or not. First is the cut. If your cut has a lot of connective tissue, it's going to be tough if you fry it, for example. To tenderize those types of meat, it's best to change the cooking style to something like a stew. I believe the most tender cut of meat is the tender loin, or the eye fillet. It's not the most flavourful, but definitely the most tender.

Next is how you like your steak done. For example, a well done steak will be drier, and seem less tender than say a medium/medium-rare steak.

Another thing is how you cut your steak. It's important to cut against the grain, giving you short fibres that easily break up, as opposed to with the grain which give you long, chewy fibres of meat.

Another thing that can help with tenderizing your steak is a marinade.

Beating your steak may help tenderize it, but in my experience it just makes a thick, juicy steak a thin steak :)

I would suggest that you buy better steak that doesn't need tenderising.

WHAT I DO IS I stab mine with a fork then add some meat tenderizer, and when I cook it I make sure I have just enough juice in the pot so that way it will some what simmer/boil. Doing this make take longer to cook, but it will definitely be tender.

you can always use a broth for the juice.

EVEN WHEN COOKING RIBS ALWAYS BOIL THEM SO THAT way they are tender before baking

Tenderizing Steak Marinade


Ingredients
2 tbs. olive oil
? cup soy sauce
2 tbs. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbs. dry mustard
? tsp. pepper
? cup red wine vinegar
1 tsp. parsley, chopped
3 cloves garlic, crushed

Combine all ingredients and mix well. Marinate steaks 2-6

What cut of steak is it?

With certain cuts of meat it's the length of time and heat that will affect the tenderness of the meat.

Resting is important to the meat to allow the cooked muscles to relax and not be so tight.

As Gatekepa suggested the way you cut your mean will have an affect on whether the meat feels tender or tough it feels. Cut across the "grain" of the meat to make eat softer.

So think about spaghetti in a packet. If you snap it into little pieces it's easy to eat. Take the long strand and it'll be harder.

Pineapple is a good tenderiser but can;t say I've used it for steak.

Go to a good butcher who hangs beef for at least 2 weeks.I buy rib-eye and never have had to pre tenderise it.

this is lame. Even by my standards.
