Question: i just bought a small toaster oven, several settings: bake / roast, toast, broil, what are the differences? what are their differences? thanks


Answers: i just bought a small toaster oven, several settings: bake / roast, toast, broil, what are the differences? what are their differences? thanks

bake - will circulate heat throughout the oven. takes the longest to cook.
Toast - will crisp the outer layers of bread (depending on how long you leave it). it can completely "toast" bread if you desire
Broil - high heat to is directed to the top of the food you are cooking.

For a toaster oven, you'd probably only want to use it to make toast, appetizers that need to be heated only on the top or like easy foods that don't require too much cooking.

Broiling is top heat for grilling or browning & crusting tops.

Baking is top & bottom heat to penetrate all sides of the item being baked evenly

Roasting uses dry heat oo a open flame or oven

Im not so sure what toasting is maybe to brown
