Is this good for a dinner meal?!

Question: My mom said I should have small portions of what she made for dinner today. Because i told her i would rather a salad. So she made:

1. Chicken with shake n' bake, or marinated.
2. Rice (lipton chicken flavor)
3. Alfredo noodles

Is this a good dinner meal? As long as the portions are small or is it too fatening?

Not really - too many carbs! You have carbs coating the chicken with either the Shake 'n Bake or a marinade; you have rice; and, you have noodles. No veggies and all processed.

Go with the chicken but sprinkle it with some type of seasoning (herbs, Mrs. Dash - or other no salt blend, or even a little bit of seasoning salt like Lawry's) and bake it; rice - plain would be better, but you have the Lipton on hand so use it; then go with a green veggie like peas or green beans.

This will reduce the starches and add a bit more nutritional impact - also reducing your fat content by a good bit.

2 side starches? Eliminate one and replace with a veggie.

3. and 1. is fine but 2. has too much sodium.

The chicken would be better backed without the topping, the rice a small portion is okay and try a veggie instead of the noodles or some fruit instead.

it is all fattening. Take the skin off the chicken. Eat a little rice, and add some vegetables, but not french fries.

the awesome part is that your mother is cooking for you...

the set up you wrote sounds delicious...

however, if you could replace either #2 or #3 with some kinda veggie, then you're good to go...

and also thank your mommy for cooking for you!!!!!!

That's not very balanced...where's the veggies? I know you don't want to offend your mom, so eat the chicken, small portions of each of the sides and add in a big pile of steamed veggies, or salad.

Lots of carbs and loads of salt. Just bake the chicken or flash fry it in a non stick wok or pan. Make plain rice or brown rice. Add a big salad and add a side vegetable. Fruit for desert and milk or water to drink.
