Filling for donuts...?!

Question: I am on my second batch of donuts today and I just ran out of powdered sugar. I have a tub of cake frosting. Do you think that will work to fill the rest of the donuts?

Definitely. I've noticed more donut shops carrying frosting filled along with the custard filled. If you have any instant pudding, you could use that too, just make it thicker by cutting back on the liquid by 1/2 cup.

Yes of cousre.

Ya defiantly!

It would work great and if you have any kind of preserves , peach , strawberry etc. you could add them in too....

npji --- I used to use different flavors of jelly
also different types of custard filling. Apple butter is also a good filling.I think my favorite was a lemon pie filling filled doughnut iced with a lemon flavored icing.
Also the apple buter filled one iced with a
maple icing was a good seller.Back in the old days we called them Bismarks. If you fill them with cake frosting then ice them wouldent that be a lot of frosting.
Have fun and injoy. jim b
