Can I pipe on icing like this with a plastic bag?!

Question: http://www.pinkcakebox.com/images/cake89...

Do I actually need a piping bag or could I cut off a corner of a Ziploc bag?

That will work. You might have to take it slow though.

it seems to be a simple design....i think a zip lock would work...just make sure your frosting isn't to thick.if nothing else try a twirl design
Good luck

ziplock would work just fine. you'll need to cut the corner about 1/2 in.

the bag is not the issue
You need the metal piping point. For those particular cupcakes, you need a round wide opening and a very puffy frosting - like a meringue. Good luck

it doesn't matter, I always use a ziploc bag, just try not to cut it too big

that would probably work. u don't want it to be too thick, though; too thin would be bad too.
Good Luck!

i think u will need a tip on the bag to achieve the swirl look

This could definitely be done without a tip. Just make sure not to cut the bag too much or too little, and practicing first is always advised.

You can totally use a plastic bag. I would use a freezer bag because they are just a little thicker, and a little more sturdy.
