How do you defrost a pork roast?!
Answers: I have a pork roast and I want to defrost it but with how long it takes, it starts to look bad. Last time I put it in the fridge and it took a couple days to become unfrozen, but by that time it looked gross so I threw it away. How can I keep it from looking gross?
Thaw in a sink of cool running water
OR
Microwave on the defrost setting... many m/w's allow you to enter how much the meat weighs and it knows for how long to defrost it.
you can put it in the sink and run COLD water on it. depending on how big it is it shouldn't take too long
microwave!
I just take mine out of the freezer in the morning and throw it in the roast pan around 2:30 p.m.. It shouldn't look gross.
I have defrosted pork may times. As long as you keep it refrigrerated to defrost (NOT room temperature) it will be fine. From frozen, I always keep pork in the fridge. Sometimes it does look a bit 'iccy' but it is still fine to cook as it depends on what cut of pork you have.
well yousee i dont make pork roasts but if i did i would just let it sit out.
