Quick question about Italian sausage and peppers?!

Question: I was just wondering, I usually steam My sausages in a pan, with a bit of water wrapped in foil can I cut up the onions and peppers and add to the baking pan too? When should I do it? Like 15-20 minutes before I think the sausages are done?

You're on the right track.....When we make Sausage Pepper and Onion Sandwiches, I brown the sausages for about 10 minutes, then add the onion and pepper and let them simmer covered, and stir about every 10 minutes for about a half an hour......Enjoy!!!

yep,go to allrecipes.com--type in ITALIAN SAUSAGE AND GO!!!!

you can just put all the stuff -- sausage, peppers, and onions-- all in the same caserole and put it all in the oven at the same time. with just a touch of oil on the veggies and mixed up, and set the sausage on top, they won't stick to the pan.
yum...i think i'll go to the store and have that tonight...you made me hungry!

Depends on how soft you want the peppers and onions to be. But onions will cook faster so I'd actually add the peppers maybe 15 minutes before the sausage is done and then add the onions with 10 minutes to go. That'd produce a fairly al dente pepper and a translucent onion.

i don't know.

I prefer to put the sausages, onions and peppers in a pan with about an inch of water and covered to steam about 15 - 20 minutes. Then I like to take off the lid and let the water boil out and let them pan fry for a few minutes to add some brown to them all.
