2 cups mashed sweet potatoes
1/4 pound butter, softened
2 eggs, separated
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1/4 cup white sugar
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
In a mixing bowl, combine the sweet potatoes, butter, egg yolks, brown sugar, salt, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and evaporated milk. Mix together well.
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; add 1/4 cup sugar and fold into sweet potato mixture.
Pour into pie shell and bake at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 10 minutes. Reduce heat and bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 minutes or until firmheres the best pumpkin pie recipe ever!! serve with ice cream!

1 1/4 cups pumpkin puree
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 pinch salt
1 cup evaporated milk
2 eggs, beaten
3 tablespoons butter, softened
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
2/3 cup chopped pecans
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
To Make Cheesecake Layer: In a small mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese until fluffy. Mix in 1/4 cup white sugar. Add 1 egg and vanilla extract. Stir until mixture is smooth. Pour mixture into pastry shell.
To Make Pumpkin Layer: In a medium bowl, combine pumpkin puree, 1/2 cup white sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, salt, evaporated milk, and 2 beaten eggs. Mix thoroughly, then pour mixture over cheesecake layer.
Bake in preheated oven for 65 minutes, until set in center. Remove pie and turn oven to broiler setting.
To Make Pecan Topping: In a small bowl, mix together softened butter or margarine, brown sugar, and chopped pecans. Gently drop mixture by teaspoonfuls over pie, covering top evenly.
Broil 5 inches below oven coils until mixture begins to bubble, about 3 minutes. Do not overcook, or top will become syrupy. Cool before serving
I like both.I can't tell a whole lot of difference in them.Both use the same spice blends and taste very similar.

Ingredients:

Ingredients:
Sweet Potato Pie
1 unbaked pie shell (9-inch size)
1 pound sweet potatoes, cooked and peeled
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 can (14 oz. size) sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon grated orange rind
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
Pecan Topping
1 egg
3 tablespoons dark corn (Karo) syrup
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, melted
1/2 teaspoon maple flavoring
1 cup chopped pecans
Directions:
For Pie: Heat oven to 350. In a large mixing bowl, beat hot sweet potatoes with butter until smooth. Add remaining ingredients except pie shell and Pecan Topping ingredients; mix well.
Pour into pie shell. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove from oven; spoon Pecan Topping evenly over top. Bake 20 to 25 minutes longer or until golden brown. Cool.
For Topping: In small mixing bowl, combine egg, corn syrup, brown sugar, butter or margarine and maple flavoring; mix well. Stir in chopped pecans.
