Question: wife does not like chunky sauce

Answers: wife does not like chunky sauce

Ragu is the smoothest I have ever used (I hate it for that reason). It works great as a pizza sauce b/c it's so smooth.

Delgrosso makes some good non chunky sauces. Go for the regular and it will be smooth. I prefer delgrosso's 3 cheese or tomato basil sauces.

Both are smooth.

maranara.... did you mean you want it with meat? then i would recommend buying ground beef and putting it through a meat grinder a few extra times to make it very finely ground before using it to make sauce... this should make the sauce smooth but still have meat in it.

hunt's is not chunky i even use it on my pizza's from time to time.

All you have to do if a pasta sauce is too chunky, is put it in the blender, and then heat it on medium-high until it reduces a little. That way it will be thicker, but smooth.

Use prepared sauces, or when making your own run the tomatoes through the processor or blender before adding to the meat. I always had to do that for my kids when they were young. No meats chunks? then you may have to put in processor after it is cooked and cooled a bit, but before you add the sauces, but meat is going to be a bit chunky. If you put meat in the sauce, and she doesn't like it, then make meat balls for you!

Super Simple, Smooth as Velvet, Spaghetti Sauce

finely chopped garlic (I like lots)
finely chopped onion
finely chopped red or green pepper
1 - 796 ml (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
equal amount of veggie broth
spices - Italian style, oregano and basil
olive oil

Directions:

This is the easiest sauce ever. I never measure ingredients when it comes to this recipe. Just go with what you like.

Heat olive oil & lightly saute the peppers, onions and garlic (careful not to burn the garlic).

Add the can of crushed tomatoes and an equal amount of veggie broth. Add the spices.

It will be very runny and look like soup rather than sauce, but turn the heat down low and let it simmer. It will thicken to a smooth sauce. I hope you enjoy!

you can always make your own, mix it with store bought, and voila! perfect consistency.

start hot olive oil on med high heat in a dutch oven on stove
with well diced onions and sautee,
add well diced garlic and sautee till garlic releases aroma,
add dried or/and fresh herbs, oregano, basil, sage, etc.,
add other vegetables if available (carrots, green peppers, etc.),
add diced tomatoes (if available),
add tomato paste (if available) or crushed canned tomatoes,
add any store-bought sauce,
if mixture is too thich, add water,
taste
add salt/pepper/spices as needed for you,

cook another 20 min or so on med heat, bubbling slightly (3-5 active bubbles on surface), till sauce is smooth and veggie pieces, if any break up easily with spoon.

VOILA! use some right away, other portion, let cool, put in some washed out applesauce jars, or other ware, and stick in fridge. good for about 3 mos.

enjoy!
