For cooking i have to make a pancake. but it has to be creative. like we have to make them into shapes.?!
Answers: we can do pretty much anything . but we can't use food coloring. and i tried to make animal shapes but it was hard. any ideas?
Add some drained whole kernel corn to your batter.... it will be unusual because it is an old southern recipe.... make sure not to forget to put some oil into the recipe!
also, use a ladle to scoop some of the corn batter into the lower center of the pan.....then add two small scoops of batter to the pancake circle to make "ears"... this makes Mickey Mouse pancakes.....
You can put fruit pieces on to make a cute face... small slice of cantaloupe to make the mouth, two orange slices to make eyes and a strawberry for the nose.
Practice at home.......... and sometimes the first pancakes don't turn out well......
Also..................... make sure your heat isn't too high or too low... and when making the pancakes......bubbles will appear... when you have quite a few bubbles........ that is when you should flip the pancake over...... the color should be golden brown......
Practice at home......... always taste your own cooking and don't be afraid to experiment a bit.... hope this helps.......
Try to make a turtle, those are really easy.
I would try using slightly less water/milk in the batter so that it is a thicker consistency. This way, you can control the shape of the pancake a little bit more easily. The reason it's so hard to make shaped pancakes is because the batter is so runny and spreads too quickly. You should also try putting the thicker batter inside of a plastic bag with a cut corner, kind of like you would use to decorate a cake, and squeeze the batter into the shapes/patterns you want on the frying pan. This will give you more control than a spoon or ladel.
my mom use to make micky mouse ones just three circles 2 medium sized on the side and one large one in the middle but make sure the ears connect (:
Will your teacher allow you to use cookie cutters?
You can put these on the pan and fill them the batter to make interesting shapes. Try making poker themed pancakes. (heart, diamond, spade, club)
if you can use other foods, then Use sliced bananas, bacon, strawberries, whipped cream, stuff like that. Smiley faces, anything really works.
Use circles to make a bear. Large one for the tummy, smaller one for head, little ones for ears and feet.
Use metal cookie cutters, place on the grill and put the batter inside.
Go abstract! Put a dollop of batter and then a trail behind it, put some batter on and then tip the grill.
Good luck!
I have not tried this but it came to mind when I read your question.
Do you have metal cookie cutters? I would spray it with Pam first.
Place it or them in a medium greased fry pan non-stick if you have one, maybe a griddle pan and pour the batter inside the shape of the cookie cutter. As it heats it will rise and cook in the shape
When it is ready to turn over, which is pretty soon after pouring take off the cookie cutter and it should slide off because of the Pam but hold its shape.
I would try it and see if it works.
I saw an idea on food network where the cook was squirting the batter out of a sqeeze bottle.
This allowed him to make pancakes into shapes by drawing outlines of faces and animals.
I use to make Mickey Mouse pancakes also.
Pour 1 large pancake for the head and 2 small ones for the ears.Make sure they are connected.Flip carefully.
Fry 2 sausage links if you want Minnie Mouse. The sausage links are her earrings.
When done place on plate. This is the fun part.
Decorate:2 fresh blueberries for the eyes,a strawberry cut in half lengthwise for the nose,a thin sliced orange wedge for his smile/mouth.
Fresh parsley or whip cream between the ears for hair.
You can also make a teddybear.
Hope you get a Super grade....
Gotta add this...
The lady above me,is right.Corn in the pancake batter is really good.We must both be from the old school.
I have made Mickey Mouse choc.chip ones have added chopped apples and plain ones.
to color the batter puree bluberrys or strawberrys and stuff of that nature mix it into the batter
