Substiute for heavy whipping cream?!


Question: im making fettucine alfredo on valentines day for my boyfriend, but hes trying to watch his weight, and I know because of the heavy whipping cream that its fatting, so I was wondering what else can I use? Like half and half or what?

Oh and I dont know if Im alowed to ask two questions in one but Im also making tiramisu and it takes 2 1/2 cups expresso and I dont want to go to the cafe and ask them to measure but i dont have an expresso maker so I might have to I just want to know if there is somthing else I could do other then that?

If you use half-and-half, it won't thicken the same as heavy cream, so your sauce would be more liquid.

For the tirimisu, I'd recommend picking up some instant espresso at a grocery store, and follow the directions, it will be much cheaper than getting 2-1/2 cups of espresso in a cafe, as a single serving is usually about 1/4 cup.

i would get the espresso

Substitute heavy cream with bechamel sauce - here's the link for a recipe:

For espresso, you can substitute with same quantity of strong coffee. Good luck!
