When a recipe asks for 1 glass of something does thats mean 1 cup?? Thanks?!

Question: I think it means 8oz.

Answers: I think it means 8oz.

what size of glass is it calling for???

*pondering over this one... hum*

Probably. Typically a small glass holds eight ounces of liquid, which is one cup.

If it's an old recipe, it very well might mean OTHER than a cup. My grandmother's recipes were based on things like her blue cup or her green glass that held totally different amounts. I worked with her in the 70's to figure out how to "translate" her recipes to standard measurements.

Another example, a red wine glass typically holds 5 oz. and my tumbler glasses hold 12 oz.

Give me more info about the recipe (either here or email) and I'll give you my best answer.

Well, old recipes called for a glass of this or that.It may be a juice glass, water glass or who knows. It would help to what your making.Could be 5-6-or 8 ozs. You may have to experiment with the recipe.
