Using a ham steak...?!

Question: Okay, I have a small ham steak at home. I am looking for something yummy to do with it for dinner for me and my hubby tonight. Doesn't have to be anything crazy. I usually just throw it in the oven to heat it up and make roasted potatoes and a veggie.

Any ideas would be great!

I love ham steaks and I found this recipe last year when I was preparing to get married and my husband fell in love with it, I actually take a can of crushed pineapple, a little bit of mustard, and brown sugar to your tasting and put it in a sauce pan and let it all meld together (w/out the ham in there of course), while that is cooking and it only takes a few minutes, I start the ham steak out on the grill, or use an inside grill if its cold out, either way it works, as soon as the sauce is done I immediately start glazing the ham with it and I flip it about every minute for less than 10 minutes and then when you serve it, serve it with any remaining sauce that you have left, it truly is wonderful. You can also try roasting soem veggies on the grill while you are doing the ham, but I would put those on about 10 minutes before the steak, squash and zuchinni w/ roma tomatoes all sliced up thin and put into foil packets are yummy, just add a little butter, little bit of water and salt and pepper to each packet,,yumm. Enjoy!

Put some pineapple slices on it

Peel a fresh pineapple and core it, slice vertically and cut into long thin wedges, from top to bottom. Grill them with butter and brown sugar glaze, put the ham slice on top. Or if no grill, sautee the slices in skillett with the butter and sugar and put ham on top. Maybe a drizzle of fresh lemon or orange...Ummm. Pineapple is perfect complement for the ham.

Try grilling it and using a basting brush to rub apricot jam and honey on both sides while it's grilling.

Make it part of breakfest for dinner.

Good ideas, makes me want to grill up one that I have in the fridge....but Hubby just said...that's alot of charcoal to waste for one ham steak.....oh pooh.......
Well, could make up a pot of macaroni and cheese...add chopped onion, green and red peppers chopped, add some of the ham cut up and bake the lot in the oven with some crushed crackers on the top.....sheer comfort food.......serve with a big green salad.....and sliced fruit of your choice.

Maybe that is what I will do.........Ham and Mac 'n' Cheese.

Toss a few pieces of pineapple on it and some bbq sauce. Bake it and then make some baked mac and cheese and some roasted veggies. YUMMY!!!

Do breakfast! Slice the ham into 1/4" slices and fry. Fry eggs in the leftover fat and maybe make some hamemade hashbrowns.

Last week I sauteed some sliced onion and bell pepper in butter. I removed them, and then browned the ham steak on both side until slightly browned., adding a splash of Worcestershire to the pan. Served with the sauteed vegetables on top and sour cream jacket potatoes and glazed carrots.
