For the best taste Tuna steaks should be rare, so you only want to sear the outside.
I would recomend to do it on a stovetop in a fry pan and sear both sides till brown but not cook through, otherwise it can become very tough and dry if you over cook it.
grill it
about 20 mins at 350...you might want to baste it with a little butter or oil
Bake in Tin foil....middle of pre-heated oven on gas mark 4 for 20 minutes...lovely..
Bake with butter for about 20 mins.at 350.
I add dillweed and lemon, just like for salmon.
How about a side of wild rice???
If you have small steaks, I would just throw them in the broiler for 3-5 min on each side, if you don't have a broiler, just turn your oven to the hottest temp....
I would just saute it not roast. Tuna is best eaten medium rare so you really don't need to waste time getting the oven hot. You can just season to taste, saute in a mixture of olive oil and bjutter - it would take just a few minuts each side when you saute it.
I find that Tuna steak is best seared on the stove top, with a supper hot cast iron, and just a bit of oil on the fish itself.... lightly seasoned to your taste,.... just a few minutes on each side leaves it med rare and OH so tasty!
Squirt your lemon on and serve!~
