Ground turkey or ground beef?!

Question: Which do you cook with and which has a better taste? I cook with ground turkey and have been eating it all my life...it's not oily like ground beef and its less fat and calories and it goes great with any recipe...which do you prefer?

I like using ground turkey when Im making tacos...It has a better texture...
I used ground turkey back in the day when my kids were little as a more economical way to feed a large family.....but as its popularity grew.....so did the price....as did chicken wings...I used to buy them for chicken stock....

ground beef you can buy lean and its not greasy likr the other ground beef

i prefer ground lamb or pork to either tbh!!
pork takes flavours really well, and i use lamb for curries and kebabs. im not too keen on beef, its quite gritty?
xx

I use both, and do substitute ground turkey in beef recipes with great results for those that have a heavy sauce- like spaghetti, tacos, chilies- but in dishes like meatloaf, hamburgers, meatballs, you just can't substitute if you are going for a beefy taste. Turkey burgers are great with applesauce and sweet potato oven fries- but not when you are craving a burger.

Good question. I have no preference of one meat over the other as far as taste goes. You can control the fat in a recipe by using ground BREAST of turkey as opposed to the generic "ground turkey. If you prefer beef to turkey, just look for a low ratio of fat to lean beef on the package label if saturated fats are a concern. Good luck.

I like both of them and I eat both of them. I was raised in a meat eating family.

Can't understand why you would grind turkey-- why not just eat it? Beef I can understand--that way yu can hide different meats into it. Ground turkey? sorry, don't get it.

ground beef which you can find the one with less fat and it goes with everything too!

I agree with you about the Turkey, but we get it seldomly.

Ground turkey is good but so is 95% lean ground beef . The turkey is better for you.

Ground beef! You can buy the-not-so Greasy kind! but I cook alot of things with it! Like chili! Once we tried cooking it with Turkey and BLAH!!! lol!
