I want to make a Frito Pie but do not want to use beef. Any suggestions?!


Question: Chicken Frito pie
Makes 4 servings
2 cups diced chicken
1 can condensed cream ofchicken soup
? cup sour cream
? cup picante sauce
2 cups corn chips
2 cups shredded Monterey jack cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine chicken, undiluted soup, sour cream and picante sauce. Spoon half of the mixture into a greased 1 ?-quart casserole. Top with one cup each of corn chips and shredded cheese. Repeat layers. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.

make chili with venison, turkey or last resort...soy protein or tofu...can't be as good tho.

ELSIE'S CHICKEN FRITO PIE

1 cooked chicken
1 lg. onion
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can enchilada sauce (hot or mild)
1 c. grated cheese
1 can chicken broth
1 pkg. lg. size Fritos

Remove chicken from bone. Mix onion soup and enchilada sauce. Line bottom of dish with Fritos - chicken - cheese. Pour soup and sauce mixture over this and cover with more Fritos and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Make it the way you normally would, but use chicken or turkey instead.

Could you substitute turkey burger or sausage? This works for chili and meatballs, so why not?

Substitute ground chicken or turkey. You may also use any leftovers, eespecially after the holidays.

Simmer the turkey carcass in chcicken broth to loosen the meat s from the bones. Take all the meats from the bones and use in pies, fried rice, chop suey, hash, pasta sauce, omelet.
