You could bake some salmon with ginger, teriyaki, and garlic on it and put it on the rice. Or you could make a honey sauce to put in the rice. It's Soy sauce, mustard, and honey mixed together. Then put a boneless/skinless chicken breast into the oven and when it's done, cut it into pieces and mix it with the rice.

A stir fry...Get frozen mixed veggies, chicken...add pretty much whatever ya' like! Healthy and filling!

For a sauce...I use equal parts soy and oyster sauce...say 1/2 cup each a tsp of sugar. I microwave it to melt the sugar.

While stir frying I grate up ginger and press garlic into sautee!

Yummy!

Cut some jalapennos ( or long green chiles for a less hot flavor), dice tomatoes, dice onions and a little garlic salt. Mix together and you have what is called "Pico de Gallo." basically a low calorie salsa, but crunchy, spicey, colorful and adds a lot of flavor to the rice.

My Micronesian friends would put a 2 cups of Kikoman soy sauce with 2 tablespoons of vinegar in the fridge. During the week they would add vegetables, like cucumber, left over broccoli, tomato, almost any vegetable. They would then add it to the rice, yum a delicious topping. They had another dish where they would add raw fish to this mixture. I never ate it, but they said it was good.

Put a litte Chinese garlic sauce and pepperoni cut into half inch cubes, and if you want an even tastier dish put 2 tsp. of lemon in. Use brown rice and Chicken for a healthy version it tastes just as good

Add 1 tsp. chicken boullion when cooking. Peas are a natural. Cooked chicken or shrimp add protein. Stir fry your combination, then push it to the sides of the pan and scramble two eggs in the center, then stir again. I also have stir-fried 1-inch cubes of salmon in with great results.

You can saute' some pieces of chicken with some onions and celery, add to the rice and use chicken stock or broth to cook this in rather than plain water. You can also add your favorite vegetables like small peas or snap peas and slivers of carrots.

I do the following:

Cook 2 cups of rice. Add 1 can of low fat cream of mushroom (or chicken) soup. Add a lb of cooked ground beef or turkey, some frozen veggies.

Place in a casserole dish and top with italian seasoned bread crumbs.
Bake for about 30 minutes at 350F

Try cooking the rice in chicken broth instead of water. Add diced chicken, or ham and some pineapple. Place in dish, top with diced tomatoes, and motzerella cheese. Bake for about 30 minutes at 350F

Add cooked rice to a large frying pan with 1 tbsp olive oil. Add an egg, soy sauce, left over chicken, or even chopped up weiners, and some frozen veggies for fried rice.

There are a lot of herbs that will flavor the rice
for example garlic, onion, basil, I mean just shaker dry spice.
Then there are the real veggies that can be added stewed tomatoes, fried onion, cooked diced carrots, mixed peas and corn, salsa sauce, all of which make the rice very tasty and can be prepared ahead and heated in a microwave quickly.
Another quick prepare ahead food to add to your rice would be diced pieces of chicken or beef pre-cooked of course and spiced with the above herbs & heated and added later to your rice or put away for a future meal.

I agree with kiki!!!

Try cooking it in chicken broth for a little more flavor to start with, then I add the following and all chopped pretty small. Carrots, mushrooms, celery, onions, you could also use zuccini, yellow crooked neck squash etc... Then I add it when the rice has started to abosrob a lot of what but before all the water is soaked in. When it is cooked then I add a little bit of frozen corn (thawed) or canned corn. A little it of butter for flaver and a dash of seasoned salt and possibly parm cheese. Mmmmmmm

Or I cook jasmine rice wich is just way better then reg white rice even by itself. The aroma is amazing. Then I brown some pine nuts in a dab of butter or olive oil. I stie them into the rice then I chop some green onions and add them as well. So very very good.

add dinty moore beef stew...
or

take 2 cans of chicken broth
peas
carrots
black beans
and cooked chicken
use some of the chicken broth to cook the rice
cook in a big pot... really good chicken and rice soup...
