Go to Hobby Lobby and get the little decorative Chinese take-out boxes. Use these for homemade Chinese food! There are lots of different colored boxes with lots of designs, I'm sure you can find Valentine themed ones. These would be perfect for sesame chicken, lo mein, fried rice, egg rolls, etc. I know it isn't finger food, but using chopsticks would be fun!To finish it off, get some fortune cookies and dip them in chocolate!

You could also just fill the boxes with popcorn chicken, shrimp, bacon wrapped scallops, quesadillas, sandwiches, toasted ravioli, etc. I think a ballpark meal would be fun even! You could try to find the paper containers that hot dogs or nachos come in at ball games and serve hot dogs, soft pretzels, or burgers.

hmmm how about chocolate covered strawberries!! ^-^

make some food in heart shape and write on top of it with a cream cone:I Love u

Salt and pepper tofu with chilli lime dressing

2 x 300g packets fresh firm tofu
1 small (150g) red capsicum,
sliced thinly
1 small (150g) yellow capsicum,
sliced thinly
100g snow peas, sliced thinly
1 small (70g) carrot, sliced thinly
1 cup (80g) bean sprouts
? cup loosely packed coriander leaves
1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
1 tablespoon sea salt flakes
? teaspoon five-spice powder
1/3 cup (50g) plain flour
peanut oil, for deep-frying

Chilli lime dressing
2 tablespoons peanut oil
? cup (60ml) lime juice
2 tablespoons sweet chilli sauce

METHOD

Dry tofu with absorbent paper. Cut each piece in half horizontally; cut each half into quarters (you will then have 16 pieces). Place tofu pieces, in a single layer, on absorbent paper. Cover with more absorbent paper; stand 15 minutes.

Combine capsicums, snow peas, carrot, sprouts and coriander in a large bowl.

To make the chilli lime dressing, whisk together all ingredients in a small bowl.

Combine pepper, salt, five-spice and flour in a medium bowl; coat tofu in mixture, shake away excess. Heat oil in wok; deep-fry tofu, in batches, until browned lightly. Drain on absorbent paper.

Divide vegetables among serving plates, top with tofu; drizzle with chilli lime Dressing. Serve with extra lime wedges, if desired.

Not suitable to freeze or microwave.

WINE: The spice and chilli here cry out for a gewürztraminer or riesling.

Tropical fruit with ginger wine syrup.

2 medium (800g) mangoes
1 medium (1.25kg) pineapple
8 (200g) lychees

Ginger wine syrup
3 cups (750ml) apple juice
1 tablespoon thinly sliced fresh ginger
1 tablespoon Stone's green ginger wine

NOTE: The syrup can be made a day ahead. The mango and pineapple can be prepared several hours ahead; the lychees are best prepared close to serving as they will discolour.

METHOD

For the ginger wine syrup, combine juice and ginger in a medium saucepan. Bring to the boil; boil, uncovered, for about 20 minutes or until reduced to ? cup (180ml). Stir in the wine; cool.

Cut cheeks from the mangoes, then cut in half lengthways. Slice through the flesh diagonally.

Peel the pineapple and cut into quarters lengthways; remove the core. Cut into thick slices.

Slit the lychee skin into quarters lengthways with a small sharp knife, without cutting through the flesh.

Arrange the fruit on a serving platter. Serve fruit with syrup.

Not suitable to freeze. Not suitable to microwave.

The Most Versatile Cookies

I will be the first one to admit that I hadn't decorated a sugar cookie since I was in elementary school. They seemed too much trouble. You spend all that time decorating to just go ahead and eat them. But times have changed, and I have an elementary-aged child who loves to dabble in the arts (painting and sculpting clay). Loretta also likes to show off her culinary skills (she's moved from stirring a pot of water on her little table to making supervised scrambled eggs). She also loves decorating sugar cookies with her friends. There's a lot of entertainment packed into flour, colored sugars and a few eggs.

Sugar cookies are a rolled cookie in which the dough is made ahead of time and refrigerated. The dough also freezes well. I always make mine ahead of time. Even if you don't have time to make the dough yourself, there are some good store bought versions out there.
Your "hubby" might not notice any difference. I think the fun is in the decorating not the eating. Although, I must say this recipe for sugar cookies is pretty good. In fact one of Loretta's teachers says that my sugar cookies are "sturdy, yet tasty." Sturdy means perfect for decorating and tasty means good to eat too.

a friend once told me that for eating in bed, simpler is easier..sandwiches! cut them into little heart shapes if you want, or small bites and make it sexy by feeding bites to each other. for dessert-brownies for a sweet treat, very cute when cut into heart shapes as well.

petite fors.....cake cut into two inch cubes, drizzle with a wet powdered sugar icing, let dry. Then frost and decorate. You can make them in chocolate, white, spice, or whatever your favorite cake flavor is.
