Do you please have a cheese soup recipe?!


Question: CHEDDAR CHEESE SOUP

4 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon grated onion
4 tablespoons flour
4 cups stock or 2 cans comsomme and 2= cans water
2 cups milk, scalded
2 cups grated Cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Melt the butter in a saucepan; add the onion and sauti for 5 minutes.
Add the flour and stir until smooth. Gradually add the stock,
stirring constantly until the boiling point is reached. Add the
milk, cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix well. Cook over low heat until
the cheese is thoroughly melted and the soup bubbles. Stir
occasionally. Correct seasoning. Serve very hot.

First of all................CONGRATULATIONS......... a star for wanting to make real home made soup. It's so easy and so good for you - you don't say how many it is for so - I shall give you the recipe to feed 4 to 6:

CHEESE AND ONION SOUP,(compliment it with mustard toasts)...........

1oz butter 3 x onions diced garlic 1 oz flour 1/2 tspoon mustard - 1 pint milk 1/2 pint stock splash white wine 6oz cheddar.


Melt butter in large pan add onions garlic and cook for 10 mins. Add flour mustardand gradually add the milk stock and wine stir ALL of the time - bring to the boil then - simmer for 5 mins - remove from the heat stir in the cheese - serve imediately. Have one for the chef, Pat yourself on the back and ENJOY.......
