Do cupcakes need to be refrigerated immediately after they've cooled?!

Question: I heard that you don't have to refrigerate cupcakes. At least not right away. So, do they need to be refrigerated or not?

No, cupcakes don't need to be refrigerated. They should, however, be kept in an airtight container after they have completely cooled.

If you want to keep them fresh for an extended period of time, they can be frozen (also in an airtight container).

i have never refrigerated cupcakes...

NO - like bread, they dry out when put in the refrigerator. If you must store them for any length of time, put them in the freezer.

no, just just have to let them cool atleast 15 minutes before putting any frosting on them or else the frosting will sort of melt! haha goodluck =]

You do not need to refrigerate cupcakes at all unless you do something with them like Fairy Cakes, where you put a cream filling in them.

No,just cover them with wax paper, and then cover that with saran wrap, never use only saran wrap,or the icing with come off.

no, you do not.
but if you are keeping them out you should cover them with plastic wrap, or in a container, anything of the sort.

I work at an upscale bakery and you have no idea how many older adult people think you need to refrigerate bread and cakes. You are not alone.

Nope. You have to eat them, right away.
