Help baking BBQ boneless skinless chicken breast?!
I wanted to try BBQ chicken using some thawed boneless skinless chicken breast that I have. I know to cook it 400 degrees for 40 minutes, flipping 20 minutes in.
I've got some bullseye BBQ sauce and I was just wondering if I should just brush the sauce on or just kinda dump it on the chicken?
Answers: I'm a college student and not a competent cook.

try marinating the chicken in it for 30 mins., then bake 350-375, lower temps will cook it but wont dry it out, if u have some left in the bottle pour some on the last few minutes of cookin or leave to dip chicken in, discard the bbq sauce used to marinate, dont want to contaminate the chicken. should take about 30 mins, check thickest part of chicken by cuttin if no pink then good to go!! good eatin
If you have the chicken thawed it shouldn't take 40 minutes, but with the sauce just dump in on the chicken and put more on it when you flip the chicken should be fine. You don't need to stand there brushing more on.
Either is fine. I put it in a casserole dish and totally coat the chicken pieces. Cover the dish for the first half of the baking time, then remove the cover for the remaining time. That way the chicken cooks and the sauce doesn't burn.
Don't put the sauce on until the last 15 minutes of cooking... you can pour it on and baste it from time to time.... If you want it to taste and appear to be done outside on the grill........ put it under the broiler a few minutes....watch carefully... good luck.
Either way will work,if you marinate it in the sauce for 24 hours before you cook it will make it even better.
Either way will work. You could even marinate the chicken in the sauce for a few hours before you cook it. This way the spices will permeate the meat and you'll have more of a BBQ flavor. Just make sure your oven isn't too hot or the sauce will burn. Good luck and enjoy
