mashed potatoes

2 to 2 1/4 pounds baby Yukon gold potatoes
1/4 cup sour cream
2 cups shredded Cheddar
3 tablespoons chives, chopped or snipped
Salt and black pepper

Cut potatoes in half and place in a pot. Cover with water and bring to a boil. Work on other dishes while you are waiting for the water to boil.

When water boils, add the potatoes and some salt, 2 big pinches, and boil for 10 minutes or until tender. Drain and return potatoes to the hot pot. Smash potatoes with masher and combine with sour cream and cheese. When cheese melts into potatoes, add chives and salt and pepper and re-smash. Taste the potatoes and adjust seasonings.

Here's some fun recipes:

This is the best and easiest dip recipe, and people always rave! I tell them it’s really hard to make (lol):

Well, if you're bored, than you probably want something easy but time-consuming?

Do you have any of that rolled cookie dough? You could make cookies, but shape them into all sorts of things, and think of fun things to put on top, like m&ms, hershey's kisses, nuts, coconut. or once they're done melt some chocolate and butter (2 parts chocolate and one part butter) on the stove and dip the cookies in the melted mix.
Make each cookie as different as you want in shape and in toppings, as long as your boredom lasts.

Chicken Taco Soup

Mix together 14 - 15 oz cans of:
refried beans
black beans
any salsa you like
can of chicken broth
Then add 1 small of shredded chicken (size of tuna cans)

Mix all together and heat to simmer. Very tasty
