Answers: I bought it two time's one befor couple Months and it has Goat smell or what my wife Calls it Wild Tast , we thru it becuse that Smell's even after cooking it , now i bought it again and the lamb smell the same but it Got to be way to get ride from this aroma , the way i want to cook it is to mix it with rice and stuff it into Grapes leaves. i had that Once in Jordan and Man it Tast delicious
A few ingredients that work to complement lamb are fresh rosemary and mint. If you mix those in with the meat before you stuff the grape leaves, the flavors will mix and make the lamb taste great. Lamb has a naturally gamey taste so add some red wine or chicken stock to the pan as you cook it. Put some whole rosemary stems and a little more mint in with the liquid too. If you do this it will be fantastic. Enjoy! Rob R
for the smell... burn some nag champa incense.
for the taste... add garlic and lemon pepper to your mix.
The smell of lamb is wonderful. If you are going to mix it with rice and vegetation the quickest and non-smelly way to cook it is to fry it.
My Dad used to fix it and he always cooked Mint in with the meat and then Mom always served it with Mint Jelly. Try BBQing the lamb, sometimes a little bit of liquid smoke will reduce that wild taste.
We get pork at school and sometimes it has a wild taste to it. I was told, this happens when they have to chase the animals into the places for them to be slaughtered, they get over excited and that taste is adrenaline.
When i read this it just reminds me of 'Ebonics' for some reason....uhm....anyways to get the smell out I say put some onion petals in it....not a lot but a maybe like 1/2 of an onion, that should take the smell out
Harere is a tip I got from a person on Yahoo Answers a while back.
I tried it and it REALLY WORKS.
With lamb or mutton, one usually makes a curry stew, now simply add one or two teaspoons of instant coffee powder to the stew while cooking.
It really takes away that wild smell and taste, and will NOT make your meat taste like coffee at all.
The smell of lamb is mostly in the fat. Cut as much as possible off before cooking. As to the gamy taste, you could marinate it in olive oil, vinegar, garlic, rosemary. A lot of the gamy taste will go away with the fat too. Make sure you throw away any fat rendered from the meat. Do not leave it in the house. I left the grill pan in the oven overnight once, and the smell was horrible.
