I agree with Natalie K. Baking powder is made from 2 parts cream of tartar and 1 part baking soda.

Recipes that call for baking soda also call for an acidic ingredient in order to activate the baking soda. If you use the baking powder, you can eliminate the acidic ingredient if you wish.

baking powder is all you need
it is a combination of soda and cream of tarter.
