What should I do with the herbs in my lasagna??!

Question: I'm making a white lasagna for dinner - chicken, ricotta, spinach, fresh basil and parsley, and alfredo sauce.

Should I incorporate the herbs into the sauce while I'm making it, or should I just add it in as a layer like the spinach?

As a certified chef for many years I'll give you the very best advice because I've tried both ways .

Basil and other herbs go well in the sauce and are pretty much a necessity . However, I've found that layering herbs within the dish produces a very good taste and appeal . Good basil can make your dish unique and no one will know how you were able to bring about that fine flavor .

I would incorporate it into the alfredo sauce. Then, it will be equally distributed.

would incorporate it into the alfredo sauce

Sometimes I mix them in with the Ricotta Cheese.

incorporate for the flavor
